Local gems, lake paddles & a sunset that stays with you
There’s something about Chilliwack in the summer, the way the light hits the trees, how the mountains hug the lakes, and how time seems to slow down just enough. If I had only one day to soak it all in, here’s exactly how I’d spend it.
☕ Start Slow: Coffee & Calm
Every good day begins with a great cup of coffee, and in Chilliwack, we’re lucky to have a few charming spots to choose from. Personally, I’d start at Amble Coffee or Land —both local favourites that offer more than just caffeine. Whether you want a moment of quiet before the adventure or a meeting point with friends before heading to the no signal zone, these cafés set the perfect tone.

Mid-Morning Magic: Lindeman Lake Hike
With coffee in hand and the early sun warming the day, it’s time to stretch the legs and breathe in the forest air. The Lindeman Lake Trail is one of those short hikes that stays with you long after you've left. The trail is only about 3.5 km round trip, but the scenery is next-level: mossy woods, bubbling creeks, and that final reward—crystal-clear turquoise water framed by dramatic peaks.
It’s an energizing start without draining your reserves. Trust me, you’ll want energy left for what’s next.

Midday Bliss: Chilliwack Lake & Paddle Time
After the hike, I’d head straight to Chilliwack Lake, one of my favourite places to just… be. I always pack some snacks, maybe even a simple picnic, and find a quiet spot to set up.
This lake is something else—wide open, calm, and majestic. On a paddleboard or kayak, you can drift along with the breeze, letting the mountains reflect in the water and your thoughts settle. It’s one of the best ways to experience summer’s full embrace.
Don’t forget to rent your paddleboard with us! just show up, glide, and enjoy every minute on the water.
Refuel Right: Burgers & Local Brews
After spending hours between trail and water, you’ll be hungry (and happy). Two great spots I always consider for a post-adventure meal are Sidekick or Yale Brewing Co..
Either way, it’s comfort food with local flavour.
Golden Hour: Vedder River Stroll
Evening in Chilliwack deserves to be outdoors, and the Vedder Rotary Trail is my go-to. This peaceful path runs along the Vedder River, where you’ll often spot people fishing, biking, or just taking in the view.
It’s quiet, grounding, and a gentle way to end the day with movement and reflection. Visit the food trucks nearby parks, making it easy to grab something sweet or a refreshing drink while you catch the sunset spreading gold and blush over the valley.

Why This Day Matters
Spending a full day like this—rooted in nature, supported by local spots, and closed with a riverside sky show—reminds me why places like Chilliwack are so special.
It’s not about doing everything. It’s about choosing the things that fill your cup, literally and figuratively. Hiking, paddling, wandering, eating, and pausing just long enough to notice how good it all feels.
